Peter B. Hitchens, a Charlotte, NC native, founded Hitchens Appraisal Group in 1991. He began his appraisal career shortly after graduating from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He has been involved in the Charlotte Real Estate market from many aspects, having experience as an appraiser, builder/developer, real estate agent, and is highly regarded for his thorough and expansive expertise in the field. 

Hitchens Appraisal Group specializes in residential single family dwellings, multi family dwellings, and land appraisals within the Charlotte metro area and currently has 2 full time appraisers on staff, who are available to meet your needs and walk you through the appraisal process, should you have any questions. Peter B. Hitchens is a Charlotte, NC native and has been working as a residential real estate appraiser for over 40 years.  He grew up in South Charlotte with his 3 siblings and now resides in Urban Charlotte with his wife, Amy and his dog, Bailey. He graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill with a degree in Economics and has 3 grown children, Bowman, Palmer, and Hollis. Peter & Amy love to travel, play golf, and visit their 4 grandchildren every chance they get.

Palmer is a Charlotte, NC native and began working with Hitchens Appraisal Group in December 2020, providing residential real estate appraisal valuations within North and South Carolina.  After graduating from Myers Park High School, he attended and graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.  He lived in Dallas, TX from 2015-2020 where he met his wife and best friend, Emily, before returning to Charlotte to work as an appraiser with his father, Peter Hitchens.
